This talk and tour led by Feilden and Mawson Partner Erin Davidson will delve into the exciting vision for the redevelopment of Norwich Castle. With a focus on preserving its historical significance while embracing modern functionality, Erin will discuss innovative architectural approaches that seamlessly integrate contemporary elements into the castle’s Norman structure. Attendees can expect to learn how the revitalized Norwich Castle will serve as a vibrant cultural hub, connecting the city’s rich Medieval past with its future.
Erin will be joined by Bradley Collins & Tom Lefever from Conisbee, the Structural Engineers on the project. They will provide insight into the engineering challenges faced and overcome when integrating a modern steel-framed structure into a medieval keep, ensuring robustness & longevity whilst being sympathetic to the archaeology and heritage.
