2024 RIBA Norfolk Annual Lecture

Mæ Architects @ Norwich Univeristy of the Arts, Duke Street, 10th October 2024

Mæ Architects, a London-based architecture and urban design studio, won the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2023 for the John Morden Centre in Blackheath, London. Mæ Architects say their purpose is to design buildings and places that uplift the human spirit.

Mæ are at the forefront of sustainable, resilient and socially conscious architecture and urbanism, creating work that exists in harmony with the planet and enriches culture and society. They work on regeneration projects for public and private sector clients, focus on brown-field sites, and promote green policies;  they have designed the UK’s largest new-build Passivhaus scheme – Agar Grove Estate. The studio has established an international reputation for sustainable architecture and urbanism, and specifically for the design of innovative housing and social infrastructure.

The annual lecture will be led by Mæ’s Tom Jarman, and we invite you to join us from 6pm for drinks, with the lecture starting at 7pm.Tickets are available from Eventbrite.

We are RIBA Norfolk!

RIBA Norfolk is a volunteer committee-led group run by architects for architects with other industry professional members bringing their expertise to the committee. We are the Norfolk branch of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and support their vision.

RIBA Norfolk is approachable and useful for all – architects, architecture students, construction industry professionals and the wider public. We do this by:

  • Championing local architecture through talks, seminars, building visits, networking, and other events
  • Raising the quality of design and construction across the county through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and peer review
  • Providing signposting and a starting point for those looking to engage with local architects.

We rely heavily on the interest and enthusiasm of our members in taking on committee roles and in delivering our event programme and always welcome new ideas, comments or questions. If you are interested in getting more involved, please contact us.
